People who purchased an Embody(tm) latex mattress have been very pleased with the performance of the mattress. They say it's comfortable and very supportive.
A few have mentioned it might be too firm, but that they are considering adding a topper to customize their side of the bed.
There is also praise for this latex mattress in that it is noiseless, has decent motion isolation, and it helps relieve back pain and neck pain.
The main complaint about this latex mattress by Sealy is the price point. Even though owners feel it is a great product, they still rated the price as a bit higher than they would have liked to pay.
There are two brands of latex mattresses that Sealy is no long manufacturing, but can still be found on a few online websites. One is called the Sealy SpringFree and the other is PurEmbrace.
The SpringFree brand seemed to perform well according to some customer reviews, but very poorly according to others.
Praises for this latex mattress by Sealy: comfortable, supportive, firm, and affordable.
Complaints included: premature sagging or indentations in the mattress, poor support, caused back and neck pain, poor material and construction quality, and less-than-satisfactory customer service from the company.
People who purchased this brand mattress when it was still in production absolutely loved it. At the time it was manufactured, it was Sealy's most expensive latex mattress.
Praises for PurEmbrace: extremely comfortable, supportive, eliminated my back pain, firm and yet soft at the same time, so glad we purchased it.
If there was a complaint to be had about this mattress, it would have been the price point, but apparently it wasn't enough to make people think twice about making the purchase.
Sealy's latex mattresses are not 100% natural latex. They state right on their FAQ page that their latex is manufactured from a synthetic petroleum base rather than natural latex.
Sealy claims that by using their brand of latex, it helps to curb allergic reactions. In reality, people with chemical sensitivities or allergies have reacted badly to synthetic latex products. Symptoms can include skin rash, difficulty breathing, coughing, watery eyes, runny nose, and even nausea.
Sealy latex mattresses may not be the best choice for those with allergies or chemical sensitivities, or for those who prefer to breathe cleaner air or desire to sleep in a healthier environment.
